2. Firewheel Golf Park Bridges Course
It built-in 2001. Bridges Course, the newest of his three courses at Firewheel Golf Park, features three different nine-hole layouts, the most difficult of the facility’s 63 holes. There are also smooth and fast bentgrass greens. The Bridge, the property’s “crown jewel” and considered one of his three golf courses at Firewheel, was also created by Dick Phelps. At 3,553 yards, the Master’s nine holes are the longest and most challenging of the three holes. There are 35 bunkers and narrow tree-lined fairways throughout the Course.

When Dick Phelps returned to Garland in 1987, he created a links-style water-filled course known as Firewheel’s Lakes Course. The most challenging hole is Hole 7, a 549-yard par five that requires a pond approach. Greens consist of Bent Grass, and Fairways are Bermuda Grass. This Course is also perfect, like the other two golf courses. The reason is Dick Phelps and he is an outstanding architect.
